I’ve spent a lot of time dining at Westfield Sydney recently, and find myself constantly impressed by the food options there. One of the meals I’ve had recently is at Charlie & Co Burgers with K…and a thousand other people all vying for a burger as well. It was a struggle trying to find a seat in their dedicated dining area with a wait of around ten minutes. It’s clearly the place to be!
We ordered some drinks from their small chilled drinks selection while we waited for our burgers to come out. K ordered Mac’s Lemon Crush, a sweet but overly tangy ode to home-made lemonade, and I ordered Mac’s Green Apple which I found refreshingly cider-like but which was too sweet for K’s tastes. I just love the labels on these drinks though – aren’t they attractively retro but with a modern twist?

K orders a double cheese and bacon burger, which is just pure indulgence. The patty was well done with an overwhelmingly beefy flavour to it, but the highlight was definitely Charlie’s signature tomato sauce which had a herb and chilli bite to it that you won’t find in a tomato sauce out of the bottle. The bacon could definitely have been a touch crispier as well.

My Producer’s burger was simply sensational. I don’t often choose the vegetarian option, but I’m really glad that I did here. The portobello mushroom in this burger was simply bursting with juicy flavours, and the haloumi complemented the mushroom really well. The brioche bun was soft and sweet and toasted well.

Yum yum, parmesan and truffle fries! While the fries were cooked to the point of being super crunchy, I could definitely have gone with some more parmesan on top and there could have been a stronger infusion of truffle oil throughout.
Overall, I rate Charlie & Co Burgers an 8 out of 10 – the fries were crunchy and delicious, and the flavours of the burgers combined well in a medley of flavours. It’s well worth a visit, the next time you’re after a quick-ish and delicious meal in the city.
I’ve been to that Westfield food court a few times, but still haven’t tried Charlie & Co – I’ll have to give it a try next time! Those burgers look awesome :)
Love portobello mushrooms! They are so meaty tasting! Would be so lovely with haloumi cheese too.
Is this the Westfield in the city? I’ve been there every time I’ve visited Sydney over the last couple of years and love the foodcourt. There is some great places to eat there. Will try Charlie & Co next time, those chips with the sea salt sprinkled on top look too good to pass up! Wishing you a Merry Christmas Amanda and Happy New Year, enjoy the festive season. These burgers look great! I visited once awhile ago and also felt the same about the fries – good but def needed a bit more truffle, but the burgers are great!
Sorry for the delayed comment to your post – I’m hopeless at going back to comment once I’ve read the post on the phone. I’m going here for lunch this week – I’ve had their fries before and wasn’t a fan (too oily) but I’m looking forward to a good burger.
